75point3 - Your pension & investment journey

1. Personal Information Check We are legally required to obtain proof of your identity before we can advise you. You will therefore need to bring a number of personal documents (including at least one photographic) to the meeting to show your adviser from the list below: • Face to face meetings require two forms of identity including at least one photo identity and at least one with an address within the last 3 months (or council / HMRC documents within the last 12 months). • Virtual meetings require at least two forms of identity as above. • Telephone Meetings – will require at least 4 forms of identity as they are non face to face which can be posted, emailed or dropped into the office before or after the meeting. 2. Information Agreements The Adviser will ask the you to provide details of any existing plans or policies. Information service agreement forms are signed for each policy to give 75point3 the authority to request details from the policy plan/provider. This valuable information allows us to research and plan investment, protection and pension strategies suitable for you. 3. Fact Find Your Adviser will complete a financial fact find ensuring that they fully know and understand your financial position and requirements. The fact find will help identify what is relevant and also helps to prioritise any actions required. We aim to ensure that the personal information that we retain about you, is accurate, complete and up to date. 4. Risk Assessment Risk profiling is the process for determining an appropriate investment strategy for you with regard to risk. 4.1 Assessing risk required We will talk with you to understand your goals, current and anticipated income and expenses, and current and anticipated assets and liabilities. 4.2 Risk tolerance Risk tolerance is how you feel about taking risk. Through the completion of a risk profile questionnaire and additional discussions, we will assess your risk tolerance and any inconsistencies that were highlighted and discussed. 4.3 Capacity for loss Your capacity for loss is a second key element of your overall appetite towards bearing capital risk. This is your ability to absorb any falls in the value of your investments or continue to meet your objectives should a financial loss occur. 4.4 Your knowledge & experience of financial products We consider which different financial products you have previously purchased and whether you have done this having received advice or whether you acted on your own without any advice. This helps us to assess your level of understanding of different products. 4.5 The Risk Scale The risk score, assessed between 1 and 10, is matched to the expected volatility of the target portfolio that will be recommended. In general, if more risk is taken, your investment will be more volatile, but the expected average growth rate will be higher. 5. Paraplanning Our Paraplanning team works closely with our Financial Advisers and Administrators to provide our clients with a professional and seamless ongoing Financial Planning experience. The paraplanners undertake product research, obtain illustrations and use analytical software to review a client’s existing arrangements. Cash flow analysis is increasingly becoming a vital part of the research that we undertake. This research is then pulled together into a detailed suitability report for the Financial Adviser to review before it is presented to the client. When time permits, paraplanners may attend client meetings with the Financial Adviser, as it enhances the client relationship and also gives the paraplanner a greater understanding of the client’s particular circumstances and objectives.
