Therefore, only grade 1 is identified. (1) CORROSION RESISTANCE Five grades of corrosion resistance are identified in accordance with EN 1670:2007 Grade 0: No defined corrosion resistance Grade 1: Mild resistance Grade 2: Moderate resistance Grade 3: High resistance Grade 4: Very high resistance (0-4) SECURITY Two grades of security are identified for single-axis hinges: Grade 0: Not suitable for use on burglar-resistant door assemblies Grade 1: Suitable for applications requiring a degree of security. Annex C of this standard details the hinge grade to use for the level of security required (0/1) HINGE GRADE (see table opposite) Fourteen grades are identified in this standard and are detailed in the table opposite. The full classification is shown in the standard Grade 1-10 hinges are for light to medium duty only, while Grade 11-14 hinges are also suitable for heavy and severe duty (1-14) (3/4/7) NUMBER OF TEST CYCLES Three grades are identified for single-axis hinges manufactured to this European standard: Grade 3: 10,000 test cycles, for light duty hinges on windows only Grade 4: 25,000 test cycles, for light duty hinges on windows and doors Grade 7: 200,000 test cycles, for medium, heavy and severe duty hinges on doors only DOOR MASS/SIZE (see table opposite) Eight door mass grades related to single-axis hinges are identified in this standard as shown in table opposite (0-7) European technical assessment for multi axis hinges The European Assessment Document EAD-020001-00-0405 provides a means of assessing multiaxis hinges. This standard is an assessment of the fire door testing and durability of the hinge. This standard only relates to our OTLAV concealed hinge range. To pass testing under EAD-020001-00-0405 hinges must: M eet the fire and mechanical performance of this standard due to the multiple knuckles or pivot points within a concealed hinge B e strong enough to carry the relevant test door mass. Be durable enough to last according to the duty required Be suitable, as required, for application on fire and smoke doors and doors in escape routes
