ASSA ABLOY - Specification Manual

assaabloy.com 683 Electric solenoid bolts Electric solenoid bolts are designed to offer electronic locking for a door. The bolt is electronically driven into the strike to prevent the door from opening. Similarly, the bolt is retracted to allow the door to be opened. They are often used in applications where an electric strike is impractical, for example on swing-through or double action doors and commonly offer greater aesthetic appearance. Our range consists of multiple high security options and, depending on the model, can give up to 1,000kg holding force. Range benefits Ideal for applications where an electric strike is impractical High security offering high holding forces Power to lock or power to open Bolt position – monitoring of both door and bolt positions Door position monitor with integrated magnet into the strike plate (no need to install a separate reed switch) Intelligent bolts will attempt to re-close the bolt 8 times, allowing time for swing through doors to settle in the closed position Tamper proof locks cannot be defeated by slipping a metal object between lock and striker plate Thermal protection in the event of solenoid overheat, a thermal fuse will operate, eliminating any fire risk Multiple orientation, drop bolts will work horizontally or vertically
