ASSA ABLOY - Specification Manual

assaabloy.com 705 Electric strikes Electric strikes are one of the most popular ways of electrically unlocking a door as part of an access control system. An electrically controlled solenoid temporarily releases the jaw, allowing doors to be opened by manual action. When the door closes, the solenoid relocks the jaw, securing the door. Available as mortice or rim mount models, electric strikes work in conjunction with the majority of popular mortice or rim nightlatches. For security, normally the latch would have a deadlocking facility. The deadlocking snib, resting against the strike plate, stops the latchbolt from being forced back into its case. This offers extra protection when a strike is fitted to an outward opening door.
