As a result, the school is able to provide a unique secondary school experience in a wonderful location. Every year, a large percentage of our students achieve high grades at GCSE. Even more importantly, the school has consistently been amongst Cumbria’s highest performing schools for Value Added. Progress 8 was introduced by the Department for Education to measure the academic progress of students (value added). This performance measure shows students at the school have consistently performed better than students across Cumbria and nationally. The school has a strong commitment to high quality learning, in and out of the classroom. This helps every child prepare for a successful transition post-16. Our students are known and sought after not just for their academic achievements, but also for their personal qualities.
