The extremely full and varied programme of clubs provides opportunities for students to extend, consolidate and develop their learning, and also the chance to try new or different activities. This extended curriculum includes sport, drama, music and subject related clubs. We also provide frequent opportunities for our family of primary schools to engage in the cross-phase events. All students and their interests are catered for, with many students opting to participate in other opportunities provided by the College such as Chess Club, Creative Writing and Film Club and a host of other activities. Christ the King College is blessed with dedicated staff, volunteer governors and parents who enable our students to benefit from such enriching experiences. Support is also provided for families who find it difficult to enable their children to participate, ensuring that no child is disadvantaged. Sport at Christ the King College has developed from strength to strength engaging not only the talented students who represent the College, County, District or Country, but also engaging a wide range of students, including those with disabilities, through the creative and varied sporting opportunities on offer. The College also offers the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award. Similarly, Music has a central role to play in the life of the College, contributing to the Worship life in and beyond the College, but also enabling our students to learn a wide range of instruments, participate in choirs, bands and musical productions. As with our sporting tradition, the College has an excellent reputation for its Music, Drama and Theatrical successes and productions. Our College Extra-Curricular provision is further complemented by day and residential visits at home and abroad. It is firmly believed that the learning experience on such visits contributes significantly to the development of the individual student and such visits are carefully planned to support the curriculum and the wider learning opportunities. Christ the King College students benefit from residential visits, for example to New York, Rome, Krakow, in addition to a host of day visits supporting the curriculum.
