This success of our students is based on our outstanding teaching, by talented and committed specialist teachers, careful monitoring and feedback, very strong parental support and excellent relationships between staff and students. Fundamental to our curriculum is the belief that children achieve better when they enjoy their learning. Our personalised ‘stage not age’ approach to learning means our most able students are enabled to flourish and extend their learning and those young people requiring more time to consolidate their learning are able to do so. Evidence of the success of this approach is found in the outcomes and progress our students make, validated by both our internal tracking and our progress and value-added figures. At Christ the King College T h e C u r r i c u l u m At Key Stage 3, a clear and relentless focus on Literacy, and Numeracy underpins the curriculum, ensuring that students are equipped with those basic skills that are essential for access to all subjects in their later years in College and are crucial to working life and being successful adults. Students also learn to take more responsibility for their own learning, developing the skills of independent study and active learning that facilitate success at Key Stage 4 and 5. To develop self- motivated learners, who enjoy learning and engage in the process is a responsibility of the College and bedding in a love of learning at Key Stage 3 will bring success at the higher levels and the development of lifelong learners. In Years 7, 8 and 9, students will study the following subjects: English Mathematics Science Performing Arts: Drama Art Religious Education Design Technology Geography History Computing French Spanish Performing Arts: Music Physical Education PSHE (INC.
