Cumbria Community Foundation - Guide to Giving

Why give through the Foundation? Giving Back Tuesday’s Tonic Case Study In 2022 Keswick Museum launched a monthly session, Tuesday’s Tonic, for local people suffering from dementia and their carers which the Johnson Fund supports. Each two-hour session is led by a highly experienced local facilitator supported by museum volunteers and hosted in the accessible Crosthwaite Room. The free sessions enable groups of older people to come together to enjoy each other’s company, participate in relaxed arts and heritage activities, and share vital conversation to break the isolation many were experiencing. We can work with you to tailor your support and donations to meet your charitable goals. We do our research so that we can focus on where the needs are. We have expert knowledge on the challenges and opportunities across the county. Cumbria has over 3,000 charities and community groups. We support those organisations. Many are small, little known and doing invaluable work We handle all of the administrative tasks from investments, annual reporting and due diligence over the organisations that apply for grants. We can maximise the impact of your gift to make a real difference year on year. “We were particularly attracted to CCF, as a means of supporting local need in an efficient, well managed and focused way. We appreciate the benefits of them looking after all the paperwork including investment management, project sourcing and monitoring, and welcome the donor advisory facility which encourages a continuing partnership of interest between CCF and donors, and which can hopefully continue through our family after our day.” Jim and Eve Johnson, Johnson Fund, supporting projects that help carers of people with dementia, artistic excellence in young people and those that help young people to fulfil their potential.
