danielconnal. co.uk PROJECT: Retail Warehouse & Industrial Units, Beccles Instigated by the East of England Development Agency, this project saw the regeneration of a derelict three acre former abattoir site to provide a combination of retail warehousing and industrial units, vital for the sustainability of the market town of Beccles, in Suffolk. Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed by the lending bank to undertake due diligence reporting, review developer costings and proposals, and produce drawdown certification for this substantial development. The programme included the demolition of existing buildings and the decontamination and remediation of the site. The new facilities included: • 26,130 sq.ft . retail warehouse/store • 10,000 sq.ft . garden centre • car parking • 3 state of the art industrial units – 10,500 sq.ft . The retail warehouse/garden centre were leased to Focus DIY and the 3 industrial units were transferred to Beccles Town Council to boost employment opportunities in the area.
