Company Profile Brathay Trust’s mission is to improve the life chances of children, young people and families by inspiring them to engage positively in their communities. Brathay works throughout the UK to inspire people and organisations to achieve and deliver results, enthused by a belief in the transformational power of people working together. The Project As society changes and what constitutes ‘educational value’ evolves, we suggest that it is time to look closely at the alignment between the inherent value embedded in our Natural Capital and Outdoor Learning. The goal of this project is to explore the possibility of enhancing the value of Natural Capital and Outdoor Learning by firmly attaching it to contemporary issues, priorities and potential carbon savings. A particular focus of interest for this project is the role of education in shaping pro-environmental behaviours and giving susequent carbon reductions. This is an issue that has become increasingly important to governments and individuals. Matt Healey Matt has worked in the UK and abroad focusing on innovation and the performativity of High Quality Outdoor Learning. He is a Leading Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor Learning and a passionate advocate of nature based learning and its power to affect pro-environmental descision making.
