ECO-I North West - Opening up the expertise, equipment and resource of the region’s leading universities

Company Profile JBA Trust is a charity that promotes environmental risk management and resilience by supporting research and sharing knowledge. The Project Almost all organisations carry some degree of risk associated with the climate. In some cases this will take the form of an obvious exposure to weather and climate-related natural hazards. For others the risks may not be so obvious, reflecting indirect or latent threats to supply chains, workers, customers, distribution networks or assets. When any of these risks materialise, the resilience of the business and the broader sector and economy is tested. This project seeks to develop a mapping interface which spatially integrates available information on geohazards with the exposures and vulnerabilities of organisations through explicit representations of their supply chains. The interface will visualise the risks to organisations, regulators, investors, policy makers and customers, aiming to incentivise more sustainable and resilient business choices. Sohaib Imran Sohaib graduated with a first class honours degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Queen Mary, University of London. Sohaib was introduced to climate change while studying for GCSE Environmental management and since then has become increasingly interested in the problem and its implications, leading him to this project.
