This research project seeks to integrate microwave induced plasma (MIP) gasification of waste with a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) to enable a highly efficient generation of low-carbon energy. The MIP gasification approach enables a waste feedstock to be thermally converted into a high-quality syngas, rich in hydrogen and carbon monoxide. By combining MIP gasification technology with a high temperature SOFC. This project aims to develop a process that is unique in both scale and efficiency, enabling sustainable waste management and low-caron energy generation. Jayan Suthar Jayan graduated from Aston University, Birmingham, with a first-class honours degree in chemical engineering with a placement year.
