Muntham House School 1 O ur Primary department consists of infant and junior classes, all of which are kept to a small number of pupils with high staff-to-pupil ratios. This serves to maximise the support and attention each pupil receives, ensuring they are highly supported in all aspects of learning. The new purpose-built department is state-of-the-art, creating a wonderful learning environment within which pupils can thrive and enjoy. Muntham House School is set within 23 acres of beautiful West Sussex countryside, with excellent play facilities and an extensive Forest School programme. Each classroom has modern technology to aid and support teaching and learning in the form of iPads, laptops and interactive clevertouch boards. We have an onsite sensory room, school farm and therapy centre. Our dedicated staff team is highly trained and experienced, ensuring pupils are fully supported at all times. The school’s primary department consists of 7 purpose-built classrooms split between two tranquil areas giving each pupil the space to feel safe and happy. Our nurturing setting helps to meet the needs of each pupil with new classrooms, playgrounds and spaces to relax, regulate and enjoy. The curriculum is diligently structured to ensure that all pupils engage and succeed in all aspects of the school. All pupils make aspirational achievements at the school irrespective of their starting points. Pupils go on to achieve success in their GCSE or BTEC examinations and many go on to full-time employment directly from the school. Muntham House School 3 Our Infants Centre is a purpose-built, pupil-centred environment, fully equipped with new, exciting resources to engage and motivate pupils. Each class is generously staffed at all times with staff members who are able to engage, educate and inspire our pupils, thus ensuring that they enjoy and are successful in their learning. The Infants Centre has wonderful resources to support pupils and meet their needs both inside and outside of the classroom. Staff members work closely with pupils to address any gaps they may have in their learning and promote communication and social skills across the curriculum, which helps to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. Pupils are immersed in daily school life and learning experiences that will allow them to grow, develop and flourish into successful well rounded young people. INFANTS CENTRE

Muntham House School 5 O ur Juniors area creates a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment. The area is separated into zones including cosy corners, Ready 2 Learn dens and a Sensory Room. Pupils can use these in times of anxiety or anger, along with many outdoor learning spaces. The pupils have chosen the outside play equipment themselves, opting for a high play fort, a circular swing, a giant sand pit and a football pitch. These give the pupils ample choices for a fun and active playtime with their friends and for enjoying school. Learning is invigorating with autistic friendly spaces for pupils to engage and enjoy. Classrooms are well stocked with new equipment and resources that capture and immerse the pupils in an environment that promotes calm, happiness and progression. JUNIORS

Muntham House School 7 P laytimes are an important part of the development of pupils at Muntham House School. Staff members work closely with pupils to ensure they are engaged, happily playing together and learning valuable social skills. There are numerous opportunities for creative and imaginative play, which supports healthy child development and increases pupils’ self-confidence and self-esteem. We encourage everyone to be active and play outside, as the pupils enjoy and flourish in the outdoor environment. The play areas are an important part of pupils development and the staff work closely with pupils to ensure that all are supported to learn how to play happily together. The playgrounds have been carefully designed to provide a fun and engaging space with a purpose-built race track and a multi-purpose adventure playground for pupils to enjoy. PLAYTIME

Muntham House School 9 There is a purpose-built race track with lots of space to enjoy using bikes, trikes and scooters which help to develop co-ordination and the learning of new skills. Playtime is a great opportunity for staff members to work with pupils, focusing on social, emotional and communication skills. Staff members are always on hand to support pupils in structuring conversations and developing friendships with each another. Our wonderful play area is an exceptional space designed to provide pupils with a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for outdoor play, offering endless opportunities to explore, imagine, and create. Every element is thoughtfully designed to promote physical activity, social interaction, and cognitive development, inspire curiosity and encourage pupils to engage in imaginative play. With a focus on safety and fun, our play area is a dynamic space where pupils can learn, grow, and make lasting memories. Rain or shine, Primary is definitely a great and fun place to be!

Muntham House School 11 Our school farm is a vibrant and bustling place where pupils can engage with a variety of animals and learn about agriculture first-hand. The farm is home to pigs, chickens, donkeys, and goats, providing a diverse array of learning opportunities for pupils of all ages, allowing pupils to interact with these gentle creatures and learn about their unique behaviours and needs. Our farm serves as a valuable educational resource, allowing pupils to learn about animal care, sustainable farming practices, and the importance of agriculture in our society. By working on the farm, pupils gain hands-on experience in caring for animals, feeding them, and maintaining their living spaces. This practical experience helps pupils develop empathy, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. Overall, the school farm is a special place where pupils can connect with nature, learn valuable skills, and develop a greater appreciation for the environment and the animals that share our world. Muntham House School 13 Our school farm is dedicated to growing a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The polytunnel provides an ideal environment for plants to thrive, with controlled temperature, humidity, and ventilation settings. Pupils have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in planting, and harvesting a diverse range of crops throughout the year. The polytunnel allows for extended growing seasons and provides a sustainable way to produce fresh, organic produce for the school community. It serves as a valuable educational resource for pupils to learn about plant biology, sustainable agriculture practices, and the importance of locally sourced food. The abundance of produce grown in the polytunnel not only contributes to the school’s culinary program but also fosters a deeper connection to nature and healthy eating habits among pupils. Muntham House School 15 Our Primary residential accommodation with personalised bedrooms creates a home away from home for our pupils. This has been designed carefully to enable pupils to feel safe and happy across each area of the residential provision. Residential pupils participate in a structured care curriculum every evening, enjoying activities such as Lego, baking, arts and crafts, bike riding, scooters and forest school activities. There is a cinema room, arcade and a pool room for pupils to use during their social development time. A homely family environment is created where pupils cook, eat their meals together and develop friendships with other pupils. There are opportunities to develop literacy and numeracy skills every evening, and reading books before bedtime is encouraged. All pupils follow a strict bedtime routine, ensuring they receive a good night’s sleep and are ready to learn and enjoy school the following day. RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION

Muntham House School 17 Awarm, welcoming environment is created where pupils feel safe, happy, and well cared for. These fundamental principles enable pupils to develop, learn and flourish both within the care provision and educational school day. High staff-to-pupil ratios are in place across every care floor, meaning that pupils are always fully supported in every aspect of the care leisure curriculum. Care staff members will support pupils to try new activities, developing their social skills and confidence, and work towards their full potential. All care staff members hold the Level 3 Diploma in Child Care; some staff hold additional qualifications and complete further training to improve practice. Pupils follow clear routines, developing both socially and academically, to ensure time is well-spent and personal development is maximised.
