Muntham House School 23 The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) program is a key part of our commitment to developing well-rounded, confident and resilient young people. The DofE program offers pupils the opportunity to challenge themselves, build life skills and experience personal growth through a combination of adventurous, physical activities. Our pupils actively participate in all three levels of the award: Bronze, Silver and Gold, each requiring them to undertake four key sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and the Expedition. Whether volunteering within the community, learning a new skill, improving physical fitness, or planning and completing expeditions, pupils are supported by our dedicated staff every step of the way. The expedition section is a highlight, where pupils work in teams to plan and carry out outdoor journeys in varied, often challenging environments. These experiences help build teamwork, problem- solving abilities and independence while fostering a love for nature and adventure. Our school provides guidance, resources and training to ensure pupils are well-prepared and overcome challenges. By participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, pupils gain valuable skills, qualifications and a strong sense of achievement. Employers and Universities regard this prestigious program as giving pupils a competitive edge as they progress in their education and careers. At our school, the DofE program is not just an award, it’s a journey of self-discovery and personal development that empowers pupils to unlock their full potential and provide lifelong memories.
