You will need five GCSEs at grade 4 including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths and two grade 4s in GCSE Science. WHAT WILL I STUDY? The CTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care course is an ideal foundation for entering the workplace or higher education, providing you with a theoretical background reinforced with practical skills. You will cover a variety of topics including equality, diversity and rights; anatomy and physiology; safeguarding; public health; sexual health; and early years development. Work experience opportunities are available at the end of lower sixth. WHAT NEXT? Our students progress onto a range of health and social care-related courses at higher education level including; Nursing, Midwifery and Childcare. This course also provides an ideal foundation for entering the workplace. HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE LEVEL 3 DID YOU KNOW? Adult social care is one of the fastest growing segments of the economy with approximately 1.5 million employees across England. HEALTH QUALIFICATION: T LEVEL DURATION: TWO YEAR COURSE – EQUIVALENT TO THREE A-LEVELS EXAMINATION BOARD: NCFE WHAT DO I NEED TO A T LEVEL? You will need five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths. You will also need a 55 in GCSE Science. You should have a strong interest in working in this sector and be prepared to discuss this further at an interview. You will also be required to complete a DBS check. WHAT WILL I STUDY? You will learn core contemporary knowledge required to be successful in the health sector. This includes the structure of the health and science sector, working in the health and science sector, providing personcentred care, safeguarding and promoting health and wellbeing. You will also study scientific and clinical practices covering elements of physics, chemistry and biology, as well as the occupational specialism Supporting the Adult Nursing Team. As part of this qualification, you will gain practical care skills. Within the course you will complete at least 45 days/ 315 hours of work experience in the health sector. WHAT NEXT? On completion of a T Level, you will be able to choose between moving into a health-related skilled occupation, or higher-level technical study such as an apprenticeship or degree. DID YOU KNOW?
