47 IT LEVEL 2 QUALIFICATION: CTEC LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA LEVEL 2 DIGITAL TRANSITION PATHWAY DURATION: ONE YEAR COURSE - EQUIVALENT TO TWO GCSES EXAMINATION BOARD: OCR WHAT DO I NEED TO STUDY THIS COURSE? You will need a grade 4 in GCSE Maths, at least a grade 3 in GCSE English Language, and grade 3s in two other subjects. WHAT WILL I STUDY? You will gain an understanding of, and skills related to, the essentials of IT and Cyber Security. You will also develop professional, personal and social skills through interaction with peers, stakeholders and clients. The various topics you will study include: - Essentials of IT - Essentials of Cyber Security - Creating Programming Solutions for Business - Creating Websites - Creating Mobile Applications for Business - Games Creation - Participating in a Project - Using Emerging Technologies WHAT NEXT? On successful completion of this course with a Merit or Distinction, you will be able to go on to one of the level 3 courses such as the Digital T Level, or the Diploma in Games Design and Development. Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language WHAT WILL I STUDY? The course has three examined units: - The Legal System and Criminal Law, - Law Making and the Law of Tort, - Nature of Law and Contract Law. In year one you will study Law Making, the People Who Work in the Legal System, and the Civil and Criminal Court Systems. You will also study Criminal Law, including Offences against Property, Homicide and Defences, and the Law of Torts including Negligence, Nuisance and the Liability of Occupiers to Visitors and Trespassers. In year two you will complete Nature of Law which considers how law interlinks with justice, morality and society, and Contract Law. WHAT NEXT? Many students go on to study a qualifying law degree (LLB) which can lead to a career as a solicitor or barrister. Some students take up work as paralegals or join legal apprenticeship schemes. Former students have also had careers outside the legal profession such as in banking, teaching, human resources departments and the police force. DID YOU KNOW?
