Poole Waite - Antimicrobial Protective Coatings

3 How does our protective coating work when the additives are incorporated? BioCote technology utilises four main types of antimicrobial additives: Silver ion (Ag), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn) and Organic technologies (Org). When incorporated within our specially formulated finishes and applied to ironmongery components it makes the surface of the product inhospitable to microbes. Through a combination of actions such as protein damage, cell membrane damage, oxidative damage and DNA interference, the BioCote additives irreversibly damages microbes. This stops them from reproducing and disrupts functions essential to life, ultimately causing them to die. It has been scientifically proven by a leading UK laboratory (test data available) to reduce the number of bacteria on a protected product by as much as 86% in 15 minutes and 99.5% in just two hours. How effective is our protective coating? • It has been proven to reduce the presence of microbes on a protected product by up to 99.99%. • It provides built on protection for the expected lifetime of your products (as long as the coating remains intact). • When applied it provides continuous round-the-clock protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
