The Airedale Funeral (0-17yrs) Arranging a child’s funeral is probably the most difficult task any parent, carer or guardian can face. If you are in this position, then we offer you our heartfelt sympathies but be reassured that we are here to help you through this very difficult time. As a company we understand that any family losing a child are just starting out in life and finances may be limited. Therefore we provide all the elements of our services as set out below, without charge. Should you wish to alter any of the elements included there may be a small fee involved but we will always inform you of this before carrying out the funeral. Many cost related to funerals for children are covered by the 'Childrens Funeral Fund' which is government funded. N.B. To be eligible for the CFF, a child must be under 18 at the time of death or stillborn after the 24th week of pregnancy, and the burial or cremation must take place in England. What’s included • Collecting your child or little one from the place of death (Normally within 15 miles of the funeral director’s premises) and bringing them into the care of our chapel of rest local to you. • The attention of a our dedicated staff to make and guide you through the funeral arrangements and administration • Provision of the ‘Rose Coffin’ fitted and furnished, suitable for cremation or burial • Care of your child or little one until the funeral, including dressing and embalming as requested. • Provision of the ‘classic’* hearse, proceeding either directly to the nearest crematorium or directly from an address within 5 miles of our arrangement office. ● Sufficient bearers on the day of the funeral to carry the coffin or assist the family to carry the coffin • A Funeral Director on the day of the funeral to support and guide you through the funeral • The funeral will take place at a date and time to suit ourselves in collaboration with the family £F.O.C. What’s not included • Bringing your child or little one into our care beyond a 15-mile radius (an additional mileage charge will apply) • A limousine to follow the hearse (limousines are available) • A choice of coffin • Third party fees (disbursements) Funerals for Children 52 FuneralsforChildren-TheAiredaleFuneral The Airedale Funeral 53 A Personal Tribute We believe that our Airedale Funeral offers a comprehensive service to honour and celebrate the life of your child or little one. However we also understand that many families would prefer to personalise the service to reflect their individual requirements and personal wishes. With this in mind we are able to offer many of the services that have previously been mentioned in this brochure, although additional fees will apply. Vehicles We will provide a hearse for the funeral of a child over 1 year of age and for a younger child or baby we adapt our ‘Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle’ to use as a suitable vehicle for the coffin and parents to travel in. Other specialised vehicles are available and details can be found on the following pages:- Limousines Page 28 Specialist Hearses Page 27 Horse drawn Hearses Page 27 Coffins & Caskets We include the provision of our ‘Rose Coffin or Casket’, (shown on previous page) supplied in a colour of your choosing within our ‘Airedale Funeral’. The coffin or casket can form a central focal point to any funeral service and the different types of coffin or casket available to a family can seem daunting at times. We are here to carefully listen to your wishes and thoughts regarding the type of coffin or casket that you wish for your child or little one to rest in and respond sensitively to your wishes. All coffins and caskets for children and little ones are crafted individually dependent on the size of the child and this may lead to a longer then normal delivery time for your selected choice. A selection of adult coffins, which can generally be made in smaller sizes are shown in this brochure on pages 30 - 36. Cremated Remains Vessels For information on the options available to you going forward, please refer to pages 41 - 43 of this brochure. Many vessels for cremated remains or more suited to adults, for this reason we recommend that if you would like a vessel to hold your child's or little ones cremated, that you visit our partner supplier, ‘Urns UK’, who have a wide range of Urns and caskets specifically design with a child or little one in mind. www.urnsuk.com Order of Service We are able to produce a personalised Order of Service for your child or little one in any quantity. If appropriate we would encourage you to supply us with 2 -3 photographs that we can use in the order of Service, providing you and your family with a treasured keepsake of the service.
