Supporting Early Language Development Programme (ELDP) A school improvement course, focused on ensuring the very best outcomes in early language development The course is primarily aimed at those in early years leadership such as the school’s Headteacher, Early Years Lead and SENDCO. The staff members will take responsibility for the cascading of training within their school. It is essential that you have your Headteacher's support before signing on this programme as ALL 6 workshops MUST be attended. Failure to attend a session will result in you not being able to continue or graduate from the programme. Programme aims: •To understand a working model of language through which to observe children’s language development through the primary years, and beyond. •To understand the stages of ‘typical’ language development concentrating on the expected milestones that occur during primary years (ages 4 to 11) •To develop practical classroom skills and techniques for quality first teaching in YR and KS1 that will create skilled and confident classroom practitioners that improve outcomes for all children. •To investigate tools to identify children who may not be developing language skills as expected and ways to support those children in class.
