Nestled in George Square, it’s a dazzling spectacle of lights, stalls and seasonal delights. Visitors revel in the aroma of mulled wine, explore unique crafts and enjoy the spirited atmosphere. The market, adorned with decorations, embodies the magic of the holiday season. Our great festive weekend goes like this: Day 1 – Travel north calling in at Gretna Green before continuing to our hotel – the Ibis Styles Glasgow Central where accommodation is reserved for 2 nights bed and breakfast with dinner included tonight. Day 2 – Make your own way to the Christmas Markets. As well you may like to explore Glasgow’s other attractions from the stunning Kelvingrove Art Gallery to the iconic Glasgow Cathedral, its cultural diversity and architectural splendors captivates visitors. Day 3 - Return to the midlands calling it at the English Lake District Important Note: If Christmas Market is not operating on these days or any elements are not available no compensation will be payable. Enjoy a festive Yorkshire break which takes in so much. We start with a local departure for our journey north to Castle Howard – the magnificent ancestral home of the Howard family – in all its festive glory. Set in 1,000 acres of garden and parkland it is one of the great houses of England which is transformed at Christmastime. If the weather is fine the beautiful garden is also worth exploring. There are also shops, including a farm and chocolate shop. Afterwards we make our way to the Midland Hotel, Bradford for 2 nights on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. On day 2 we visit York, a truly delightful city - no more so than at this festive time. The programme of events is uniquely diverse and offers something for everyone. In the run up to Christmas there is a vibrant atmosphere within the ancient city walls and the colourful St. Nicholas Fayre centered on the traditional market is in full swing. Day 3 – We drive to the charming market town of Skipton known for its castle and scenic landscapes returning via the picturesque Ribble Valley to the Midlands.
