It is home to a Mediaeval castle built by the Welsh in the mid 13th Century. The castle divides the town into 2 with a pebbly beach to the west and a lovely sheltered mainly sandy beach to the east. The countryside around is breathtaking with awesome mountain scenery of Snowdonia and delightful gardens and castles at every turn. We start with a local departure by coach and make our way to Criccieth and the George IV Hotel. This is set on the High Street in the centre of town with magnificent views towards the sea and castle. All rooms have private facilities, TV and tea / coffee making facilities. Your ‘Festive Sparkle’ break includes 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast with lunch on one day and festive entertainment each evening. During your stay we have included these great excursions: • A visit to the Snowdonia National Park • Half day visit to Portmeirion village. This unique village is set on its own peninsular on the southern shores of Snowdonia. It was the setting used for the famous TV series ‘The Prisoner’. There are lovely gardens and fascinating vistas at every turn. (Entrance included in the tour cost) Return home on day 4 after breakfast. We start with a local departure for our journey south to Bognor Regis one of England’s oldest resorts for our festive sparkle break. It has a long flat seafront and delightful parks and gardens as well as lively seafront cafes, bars and pubs. Accommodation has been reserved for 3 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis with lunch on one day at the Royal Norfolk Hotel in Bognor Regis. This is an exceptional Regency building on the seafront with extensive lawns and superb views over the English Channel. All rooms have private bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a large restaurant, bar lounge and entertainment room with dancefloor. Features include an outdoor terrace and there will be festive entertainment each evening. During your stay we have included this great excursion: • Brighton & Worthing. A tour along the south coast. The regency resort of Brighton has a unique atmosphere with the historic Lanes and the famous Brighton Pavilion, as well as shops, restaurants and a lovely sea front. Worthing is renowned for its fabulous shopping and department stores, together with miles of award winning beaches. Day at leisure for you to explore Bognor Regis. On day 4 we bid farewell and travel to Arundel. There will be some free time to explore this historic town with its ancient streets before continuing our journey home arriving back later on.
