Our special trip starts with a journey south. Accommodation has been reserved for 4 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Queens Hotel, Paignton. This boasts a prime location, 200 yards from the sea front and town centre. All rooms have private facilities, TV and tea / coffee making facilities. There is a bar and restaurant and indoor heated pool subject to availability) Entertainment is arranged by the hotel in the bar/lounge during your stay. During your stay we have included these great excursions: • Today we board the steam train from Paignton along the spectacular English Riviera Geopark coast line, through the picturesque stations at Goodrington and Churston (non-stopping) then on through the wooded slopes of Long Wood bordering the Dart Estuary to Kingswear. A short foot passenger ferry takes you across the river Dart to the historic town of Dartmouth for some free time before returning back by coach to the hotel. • Plymouth – known for its maritime heritage and historic Barbican district with narrow cobbled streets. Sutton Harbour is home to the National Marine Aquarium where sharks and stingrays glide in a deep tank (admission not included). Day at leisure for you to explore Paignton. On day 5 we bid Paignton a fond farewell and commence our journey home, arriving back later on. As an added extra we have included a return journey on the Swanage Railway line on the 13 July departure date only.
