Join us on this popular break to explore the Emerald Isle - based in County Clare a picturesque region known for its stunning landscapes, rich history and vibrant culture. With highlights including the Irish National Stud in Kildare, a Whiskey Distillery in Wicklow and 4* overnight stays in Dublin. Day 1 - We start with a local departure for our journey to the Welsh port where we board the ferry for the sea crossing to Ireland. We continue to our first overnight stay at the 4* Plaza Hotel, Dublin on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. Day 2 - We continue west calling in at the Irish National Stud located in Kildare, the only stud farm in Ireland for our guided tour which includes a visit to the foaling unit. Then to the Japanese Gardens considered to be the best of their kind in Europe. Afterwards, continue to our hotel, Treacys Oakwood, located in the heart of Shannon’s town centre for the next 3 nights with dinner, bed & breakfast. All bedrooms are en-suite with tv, tea/coffee making facilities. Features include a bar and restaurant. Day 3 - Visit to the Cliffs of Moher & The Burren located on the rugged west coast of Ireland in County Clare. The Cliffs of Moher standing 702 feet above the crashing Atlantic below, a sight to behold and the lunar-like landscape of the Burren, unlike anywhere else on Earth, punctuated with caves, rock formations and ancient burial sites. Day 4 - Today, weather permitting we take you on the Killaloe River Cruise of the River Shannon and Lough Derg providing stunning views and a journey through heritage and history. Day 5 - After breakfast we travel back to the Dublin area and include a visit to the Powerscourt Whiskey Distillery on the grounds of the magnificent Powerscourt Estate and home to Fercullen Irish Whiskey. The tour will take you through the distillation process and ends with a whiskey tasting. Continue to our final overnights stay in Dublin and the Plaza Hotel.
