Tattoo time in Edinburgh is always special and our popular trips are the ideal way to make the most of the occasion with the chance also to see the Royal Yacht Britannia. This special 5 day break will start with a coach journey north to Scotland and your hotel the 4* Golden Jubilee Hotel, Clydebank for 4 nights bed and breakfast accommodation with dinner on 3 nights. This 4* luxury hotel is situated on the banks of the River Clyde. Royal Yacht Britannia & Edinburgh Tattoo: Depart during the late morning/early afternoon to visit The Royal Yacht Britannia, a Royal residence for over 40 years and discover across five decks stories of life at sea for both the Royal Family and the 220 Royal Yachtsmen who served on board. This will be a self-led audio guided tour. We will then drop you off at a central point in Edinburgh where there will be time for shopping and sightseeing and to get an evening meal before the 21.30 hrs performance of the Tattoo. (Note: late arrival back to the hotel) As well we have included the following excursions during your stay: • A visit to Stirling, passing Scotland’s one and only lake – Lake Monteith and its island Inchmahone Priory where Mary Queen of Scots once hid. The city of Stirling has many places to visit including Stirling Castle built in the 11th century with its own Visitor Centre, (admission extra) • A visit to Loch Lomond. We climb past Glen Coe, pass the Cobbler Mountain, descend to Loch Fyne and reach the white walled town of Inverary, with its castle, ancestral home to the Dukes of Argyll Return home on day 5.
