Cumbria Community Foundation - Annual Review 2025

Annual Review 2025 22 Your giving options We believe that anyone can play a part in building a better Cumbria. We’re a trusted philanthropic partner – grant making experts with a deep understanding of Cumbria. We have rigorous processes in place honed over more than 25 years to make sure funds get where they’re most needed, to make the biggest difference possible. Here’s how you could get involved... 22 Annual Review 2025 Start your own fund You can start a fund with Cumbria Community Foundation for you, your family, your business or on behalf of a professional client. We offer two main options: endowment funds invested for long-term giving and flow-through funds that can make an immediate impact or you could opt for a combination of the two. An Acorn Fund is a great way of giving for those who maybe don’t have a large sum of money to invest upfront. It offers the chance to build up a named fund with us with no minimum donation or timescale for giving. The creation of a fund is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. We’ll work with you to understand your charitable goals and create a fund that addresses need in the community. You’ll receive regular reports about the grants made from your fund. Leave a lasting legacy You can choose to leave a gift in your will of any size to help your community for generations to come. An unrestricted legacy gift gives us the flexibility to address needs as they arise in the future. You could donate to an existing fund, such as the Cumbria Fund, set up a fund tailored to your charitable goals and causes you care about, or celebrate the life of a loved one by setting up a memorial fund in their name. Give with others If you’re happy for us to decide how your money would make the biggest impact, a regular or one-off donation to our Cumbria Fund is a good option. This fund awards grants to projects that address our grant making priorities: Improving Lives and Strengthening Communities. Or you could donate to, or fundraise for, one of our appeals, such as the Winter Warmth Appeal or West Cumbria Mental Health Match Funding Challenge.
