WHAT WILL I STUDY? What is the potential impact on the UK economy of the coronavirus pandemic? What impact did the uncertainty surrounding Brexit have on the UK economy? Why are some economies wealthier? What caused the trade war between the U.S and China? Economics is ideal for those with questioning minds. You will debate about issues such as inequality, immigration and how we should pay for health care. You will interpret data to analyse economic problems, discuss courses of action, and keep up to date with economic trends. You will develop analytical, quantitative, and evaluative skills. We encourage you to ‘think like an economist’ when considering issues such as scarcity and choice, how competitive markets work, and market failure. We also consider different economic policies that governments use to influence the economy. WHAT NEXT? You could become an Economist, advising governments and firms. This course can lead to a variety of careers in areas like management, accounting and finance, due to the transferable skills you will develop. ECONOMICS DID YOU KNOW? The average annual salary for a chartered accountant is £84,500. £37m EDUCATION AND CHILDCARE QUALIFICATION: T LEVEL DURATION: TWO YEAR COURSE – EQUIVALENT TO THREE A LEVELS EXAMINATION BOARD: NCFE WHAT DO I NEED TO STUDY THIS T LEVEL? You will need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths. You will also be required to complete a DBS check. WHAT WILL I STUDY? This T Level will allow you to develop your knowledge across topics such as child development, safeguarding and special educational needs, as well as learning about the role of families and support agencies. These topics allow you to delve into the specifics of social interaction, how language is acquired and understanding behaviour. You will complete one occupational specialism, either Early Years Educator or Assisting Teaching. Early Years and Education focus on relationship building and promoting play, development and early education, as well as becoming a collaborative and reflective practitioner. WHAT NEXT? If you choose the Early Years Educator specialism, successful completion of this course will give you a license to practice, enabling you to enter the workplace as a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator. Other progression options include progression to university to study degrees such as Early Childhood/ Education Studies, Early Years, Primary and Secondary Teaching. DID YOU KNOW?
