Drive along the stunning coastline taking in the market town of Alnwick with its cobbled streets, narrow alleyways and fine stone buildings and finally Alnmouth. • 21 June Departure only: Beamish - A world famous open air museum telling the story of life in the North East England during the 1820’s, 1900’s, 1940’s and 1950’s. Admission included. • Durham and the Angel of the North – a visit to the cathedral city of Durham with its iconic cathedral and castle World Heritage site plus a photo stop at the giant Angel of the North sculpture. Accommodation is reserved for 4 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Ramada Encore Newcastle - Gateshead Hotel - situated close to Gateshead Millennium Bridge, within walking distance of Newcastle City Centre. Features include a bar/lounge and restaurant, and rooms are well appointed with private facilities. Join us on this relaxing break to Scarborough – situated on the north Yorkshire coast with the scenic North Yorks Moors National Park behind the coastline to the north and the rolling Yorkshire Wolds to the south. Attractions include Peasholm Park with its beautiful walks, a lake and an excellent harbour overlooked by the remains of a Mediaeval castle. Your Itinerary: We start with a local departure for our journey north. Accommodation has been reserved for 4 nights on a half board basis at the popular Esplanade Hotel, Scarborough which sits in a commanding location overlooking the beach and harbour. Features include comfortable lounges, bar and a roof terrace where you can sit and admire the unrivalled views of the coastline. All rooms have private bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities and there is entertainment each evening during your stay. During your stay we have included these great excursions: • Today we board the train for a journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway travelling from the market town of Pickering to pretty Goathland.
